Since this is my first post, I know that you don’t really know much about me. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask. I tried to give you a little background in the “About Me” section.
My day started off with my husband waking up and telling me that he had multiple bad dreams last night. He began to tell me the story about one dream that actually happened to him in Afghanistan. A vehicle had blown up in the same place that he usually drove every day. This freaked him out because it could have been him, and he was also wondering why it wasn’t him. They sent soldiers to collect the bodies, and each body usually gets put into a separate body bag. In this instance, they only had three body bags, and there were five bodies. My husband was the one that received the bodies in order to get them ready to fly back to the U.S. Because there were only three bags, they had to put three bodies into one bag. This meant that my husband had to sort through the pieces that were mingled together, in order to separate them. This still haunts him, and he tells me how real his dreams seem.
My husband after he woke up from a nightmare reliving a war experience. When this happens he has to try to adjust back to the real world.
There is no way for me to relate to his stories. These things only happen to me through movies and to think that he lived through these things is inconceivable. I try to do my best to help and support him, but sometimes I just don’t know how to react.
